History
Lesbians are women who are romantically and sexually attracted to other women. This variant of the labrys lesbian flag keeps the double-headed axe (labrys), an ancient symbol of female strength reclaimed by lesbian and feminist communities, but removes the inverted triangle from the original design. Some community members preferred this simpler version because the triangle referenced the symbol used to mark lesbian prisoners in Nazi concentration camps. The colors are purple, white, black, and gray.
