History

The asexual pride flag represents asexual people, meaning people who experience little or no sexual attraction to others. It was adopted in 2010 by the Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) after a community vote, giving the asexual community its first widely shared symbol. The black stripe stands for asexuality, gray for the gray area between asexual and sexual experience, white for sexual partners and allies, and purple for community.
