History
The Double Progress Flag is an expanded variant of the Progress Pride Flag created to represent additional LGBTQ+ communities and identities not included in the original Progress Pride Flag design. While the standard Progress Pride Flag incorporates the traditional six-stripe rainbow with a forward-facing chevron containing the transgender flag colors and the intersex circle, the Double Progress Flag extends this concept by adding more stripes to the chevron to encompass additional identity elements. The flag maintains the core philosophy of the Progress Pride Flag—representing the forward movement of LGBTQ+ rights and the intersectionality of the community—while acknowledging a broader spectrum of identities including various sexual orientations, gender identities, and other marginalized communities within the LGBTQ+ umbrella. The flag has emerged as part of the ongoing evolution of pride symbolism in response to calls for greater representation and inclusivity within flag design.
