History
The Demiagender flag is a community-created pride flag representing individuals who identify as demiagender—those whose gender identity exists partially outside the binary and may be fluid or partially undefined. Like many modern pride flags, it emerged from online LGBTQ+ communities in the early 2000s where members collaboratively designed symbols to represent their identities. The flag's design uses multiple horizontal stripes, with colors chosen to represent the spectrum of gender experience and the partial nature of demiagender identity. The flag gained visibility through LGBTQ+ online forums, social media, and pride events, particularly within communities focused on non-binary and genderqueer identities. While not as universally recognized as foundational pride flags, the demiagender flag serves an important role in affirming the identities of those who experience gender in ways that don't align with traditional binary categorizations.
